Why Caring Network Walks With Women Long After Pregnancy

When a woman chooses life, the work of justice is just beginning.

At Caring Network, we believe that true pro-life conviction means more than opposing abortion—it means building the systems of support that make abortion unnecessary. And that requires follow-through.

The Economic Reality

The numbers tell a story of systemic abandonment.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, 75% of women who seek abortion live at or below the poverty line—earning less than $15,730 annually. These women aren’t choosing abortion because they’ve reasoned their way to it. They’re choosing it because they feel they have no other choice.

When a woman believes abortion is her only option, the real injustice isn’t that she can’t access it. The injustice is that she feels she must.

Beyond Pregnancy Tests

Caring Network operates six pregnancy resource centers across Illinois because we understand something critical: you cannot ask a woman to choose life while leaving her to navigate poverty, instability, and isolation alone.

A positive pregnancy test changes nothing if a woman still can’t afford rent. An ultrasound restores hope only if she knows someone will walk with her through the months ahead. A decision to carry her pregnancy matters only if her life becomes more stable—not more desperate—because of it.

Real support means meeting her needs across every dimension of her life.

The CARE Pathway: Justice in Action

We don’t just offer resources. We offer relationship.

Through our C.A.R.E. pathway, we:

  • Commit to reach women in the communities where need is greatest
  • Attract her with compassionate presence before abortion becomes her first option
  • Renew her hope through medical care, ultrasound, and spiritual guidance
  • Encircle her with lasting mentorship, community, and practical support—through pregnancy, parenting, and beyond

This is what it looks like to defend life as sacred. Not in a moment. But across a lifetime.

You Can Help

Women flourish when they’re surrounded by people who believe in them. Whether through prayer, volunteering, or financial partnership, there are meaningful ways to stand with Caring Network as we walk with women and families toward healing and hope.
